The 2017-18 school year is in the books! The celebratory – and bittersweet – spirit of the last day of classes was captured in lyrics sang by fifth graders to the Class of 2018 at today’s Salute: “June has come and here we are, suddenly, it seems, that high school isn’t all that far. You’re on the top and you’re all stars. Graduate, be brave, and know we love you as you are.” The Salute is a celebration of the graduating class that includes tributes from each grade level as they bid farewell to eighth grade students, as well as the yearbook dedication (this year, to Ms. Black), a reading of the Class History, awarding of Recognition Cups, and a slideshow that highlights treasured memories. Following the Salute, eighth grade students were joined by parents, families, and faculty as Head of School Laura Caron and Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Eliza Cowan led a (sparkling cider!) toast in celebration of their experience at Brookwood. Now, eighth graders are off to the beach before returning to campus on Monday for our 55th Commencement ceremony!
