Gavin, Principal with L.E.K. Consulting, is a business strategy consultant focused on growth and digital innovation for industrial and consumer sector firms in the U.S. and around the world. Gavin joined the Board in 2019 and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee. He also co-chairs the Head of School Search Committee. Gavin looks forward to bridging his experience as an alumni with a “desire to see Brookwood thrive in a rapidly evolving future.”
Jenny Perkin, M.S. Ed
Search Committee Co-chair; Board Committee on Trustees Chair; Parent of Jack ‘19, Cole ‘20 and Teddy ‘23
Jenny taught middle school for over ten years. In addition to her experience in the classroom, she also led faculty professional development initiatives and was instrumental in developing innovative curriculum district-wide. Jenny’s professional experience as a teacher as well as serving on other boards gives her insightful perspective on all the constituencies, from faculty and parents to what it means to be a Trustee. Jenny joined the Board in 2015 and serves on the Executive Committee, and is currently serving as the Co-chair of the Head of School Search Committee as well as the Chair of the Committee on Trustees. Aside from her nonprofit work, Jenny enjoys skiing, tennis, and visiting family in Wisconsin. In college, Jenny traveled around the world on a ship exploring many different cultures from Japan to Morocco.
Molly Cook, PsyD
Board of Trustees Advancement Committee Member; Parent of Jael ‘26 and Meyer ‘28
Molly is a clinical psychologist and the founder of the North Shore Center for Neuropsychology in Marblehead, where she provides evaluation and treatment services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Her passion for psychology developed in her undergraduate years while studying at Hamilton College. Molly joined the Board in 2019 and brings independent school board experience by serving for seven years on the Board of Trustees at her alma mater, Charles River School, where she was involved with the search for a new head of school and a capital campaign. She serves on the Institutional Advancement Committee as well as the Head of School Search Committee.
John Corcoran, M.A.
Board of Trustees Finance Committee Member; Parent of Eleanor ‘24
John is the Founder and President of Trinity Partners, a global life sciences strategic consulting company. John is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts High Technology Council, the Catholic Leadership Institute and is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary. John has served on the Board since 2017 and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee as well as the Head of School Search Committee. He also chairs the Audit Committee. John enjoys genealogy, working the land and cutting trees.

After early adventures teaching English in Thailand, doing public relations in California, working and volunteering in London and generally traveling the world, Sara returned to the Boston area and began working for the UK’s largest provider of student travel, World Challenge. At World Challenge’s US Headquarters, Sara’s work culminated in the role of Director of Operations where she managed program delivery, customer service, repeat sales and operations. Sara enjoyed the near-constant contact with all client groups – participants, parents, teachers, principals, superintendents and school committees. Currently, Sara is actively involved with volunteer work at Brookwood in her role on the Parents’ Association Executive Committee. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family and hiking on local trails with her (active!) rescue dog, Sadie.
Ray Falconer, M.A.
Upper School Faculty (since 1999); Grades 5-8 Literacy Department Coordinator; Parent of Kere ‘20 and Quinn ‘20
Ray is in his 21st year teaching English at Brookwood and his 10th year as a proud Brookwood parent. Over his years at Brookwood, Ray has coached, advised served on committees, coordinated the English department, led writing groups, earned his MA, traveled to Quebec, shared laughs with wonderful students and colleagues, and he has benefitted all along from the powerful loving heart at the core of the Brookwood community.
Katy Langhorst, MEd

Katy is currently the National Director of Enrollment and Service at StudyPoint Tutoring. Katy has an extensive background as an educational and business leader. Since leaving classroom teaching in 2007 and prior to her current role at StudyPoint, Katy worked as an educational consultant helping companies to establish and improve their employee training and professional development programs. Katy joined the Board in 2019 and is a member of the Committee on Trustees as well as the Head of School Search Committee.
Monica Palmer, Ed.D
Board Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Member; Dean of Faculty at Governor’s Academy; Parent of Blake ‘26
Monica currently serves as Dean of Faculty at The Governor’s Academy, where she inspires faculty members in their teaching by developing and overseeing a faculty development program. Monica has extensive experience in independent school leadership, recruiting and hiring faculty, identifying staffing needs and improving the recruitment and retention of diverse faculty members. Monica joined the Board in 2018 and she serves on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee as well as the Head of School Search Committee.
Moira Smith, M.S. Ed
Lower School Faculty (since 2009); Grades PreK-4 Literacy Department Coordinator; Parent of Miles ‘22, Owen ‘22 and Ruby ‘24
Moira has served in many roles during her 11 years at Brookwood, including Learning Skills Specialist and 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. Before Brookwood, Moira worked at Natures Classroom in Freedom, N.H. and Landmark Elementary-Middle School. She is also the proud parent of three Brookwood students. When she’s not at Brookwood, Moira enjoys growing vegetables and flowers in the family garden and running in the woods.

In 2016, Chris launched the American Rhino Foundation and AmericanRhino.com as a unique way to participate in on-the-ground conservation efforts to protect critically endangered and threatened African wildlife. Prior to founding American Rhino, Chris served as the President of Twin Oaks Partners for 17 years and was also engaged as a Board member at his alma mater, Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
