At Brookwood School, we have been blessed these last few months, and the blessings continue. Can you believe that Halloween is next Thursday? The children must all be fluttering about as they eye the perfection that is their costume. As they imagine the pride in the community’s heart, they dream of strutting around the courtyard in the Lower School Halloween Parade at 9:00 am. Little do they know that Ms. Hall is reimagining the library, mixing old and new traditions, to create the most wondrous Halloween reading experience, the Halloween Blackout. By 9:30 am, the excitement of the parade will be over. Just when you think the students will settle down, we will rouse them right back up at School Meeting! Join us at the ultimate risk-taking event, the Faculty Shootout! One by one, we each shoot a basket to the raucous, deafening (but not overstimulating) cheers of the entire Brookwood school body. As we move forward and see ‘nothing but net,’ the celebration and high fives are intoxicating. But don’t be sad if you miss the basket because our empathetic students cheer loudly, “That’s okay!’ They mean it too because Herons have HEART!
Or maybe they piqued their excitement the day before during Brookwood School Spirit Day (October 30). Either way, join us and experience the magic. Drop off in Green, White, Gray, and/or Black on Wednesday, or join us on Thursday, October 31, for the Halloween Parade and School Meeting.
