Introducing Slack
Dear Parents,
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Slack as a new communication platform for Brookwood parents! This exciting development is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping up with emerging communication technology and trends. Gone are the days of one-way communication—people are hungry for dialogue, and we are eager to embrace it.
While our website, parent portal, and weekly newsletter will remain central to sharing Brookwood news and events, we also see the need for more informal, dynamic ways to stay connected. Slack will allow for just that—enabling quick updates, group discussions, and streamlined communication on everything happening in our community. We’re also excited to promote more parent-to-parent interaction, and we’ve set up various channels to make connecting with one another as easy as possible.
Here’s the timeline for our Slack launch:
- September 13: We began piloting Slack with families on the bus routes
- September 30: Class connectors will be invited to join Slack
- October 3: All Brookwood parents will be invited to join Slack
As the Communications team, we will serve as site admins, and we’re here to help you with anything you might need. Got a question about school pajama day? We’ve got you covered! Unsure about how to use Slack? No problem—we’re here for that, too.
