Dear Families, Walking the campus this week, amidst students sledding down the hill, tromping through the snow capped forest, and leading on the basketball court, I’m reminded of our commitment to being a place of safety, respect, and belonging for all. Grounded by our mission, which is rooted in fostering a culture where every individual is valued, empowered, and supported, serves as a constant amid uncertainty. Regardless of what is happening in the world around us, our shared values guide us in nurturing an environment where empathy, thoughtfulness, and community lead the way. As we begin the second half of the year, we’ll continue our work in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and families. This commitment to care, connection, and growth is at the heart of everything we do, and we are here to support your family in every way we can. One way we hope to make this difference is by offering opportunities for parents to come together, gain insights, and share strategies for navigating the complexities of raising children at the different stages of their development.
We are excited to share the following upcoming Parent Education events, designed to provide practical tools and thoughtful conversations about parenting and family life:
• Tuesday, January 28: Decoding Stress and Anxiety in Adolescents with Debbie Offner – 7:00 p.m. in the Dodge Writing Center
• Tuesday, February 11: Setting Intentions: A Mindful Approach to Parenting in the Digital Age – 7:00 p.m., at JCC North Shore in Marblehead. This discussion, led by Brookwood faculty experts, will explore strategies for fostering resilience, connection, and balance in today’s tech-driven world.
• Tuesday, February 25: Parental Self-Care: Managing your Middle School Child – Morning in the DWC, exact time is forthcoming.
These events are an invitation to connect as a community, learn from one another, and strengthen the partnership that lies at the core of Brookwood’s mission; ensuring that every child feels supported, inspired, and able to thrive.
Warm regards,
Jon Bartlett
